[edit]This article is well written and has a lot of useful material. Unfortunately, it doesn't quite meet the standards set at the various WikiProjects, or the exit list guide. I'll get around to major rewrite in the next few weeks, any help in the meantime would be much appreciated. -- NORTH talk 07:09, 5 January 2007 (UTC)
- I completed the cleanup. I took out some of the dates from the route description section because they made it too wordy and confusing, and would be more appropriate for a new "History" section. Also, if we were to expand this article, the brief mention of the construction on the express lanes east of Route 24 could be expanded into a "Future developments" section. -- NORTH talk 08:59, 24 January 2007 (UTC)
I have lived in New Jersey for over 40 years, I-78 goes through my town of Warren Twp, and I long used I-78 for commuting to work and traveling to my summer home in Virginia. The idea that I-78 is called the "Phillipsburg-Newark Expressway" is laughable, completely ridiculous. I challenge anyone to find any sign anywhere that calls it that, or any document less than 30 years old. I have never heard it called that, or anything like that. Maybe when being planned in the 1950s it was called that, but that was long long ago. I have read Warren Twp newspapers from the early 1960s and they do not call it that. Phillipsburg USED to be an important industrial city, but its industrial base picked up and left in stages long ago and it is nothing now. Nobody east of Clinton gives a tinker's dam about Phillipsburg. Signs outside Newark cite Clinton as the western I-78 destination. 67.142.130.23 (talk) 09:31, 30 August 2009 (UTC) oops!
